1st Lasting Power or Attorney Solicitors Gosforth Newcastle:
Lasting Powers of Attorney took over from the previous Enduring Powers of Attorney in October 2007.
There are now two types of LPA: one for health and welfare and a second for financial affairs.
The first can be used to appoint people to make decisions on, for example, where you should live, day-to-day care (including diet and dress) and whether to give or refuse consent to medical treatment.
The latter version, a financial affairs LPA, can be used to appoint someone to make a range of decisions, including the buying and selling of property, operating a bank account, dealing with tax affairs, and claiming benefits.
